SS 316Ti Welded Pipes are titanium stabilized austenitic nickel and chromium stainless steel grade having the composition of molybdenum. This extension improves the corrosion resistance to pitting chloride ion environments. Due to the titanium stabilization, it becomes resistive to sensitization. Also, resistance property can be improved especially against formic, hydrochloric, sulfuric, tartaric acids and other alkaline environments.

SS 316Ti grade displays higher corrosion resistance over other grades. Thus, these pipes offer great pitting resistance and very good resistance to many chemical containing environments. These pipes are weldable with all standard resistance and fusion welding apart from the gas welding. Also, filer material should not be compulsory for these pipes. Different hot working operations can be possible with SS 316Ti. It is heated between 2100 deg F to 2300 deg F. the post annealing operations are performed to achieve higher corrosion resistance. It is also required to remove internal stress. Hardening of SS 316Ti pipes are not possible with heat treatment, cold working operations are preferred to attain hardness and strength.
