Stainless Steel Rods has good mechanical properties at both room and elevated temperatures up to approximately 1020 Degree F. The additions of copper and molybdenum in Stainless Steel Round Bars increase it resistance to general stress corrosion and to specific attacks such as crevice corrosion. Applications of these Stainless Steel Wires include chemical processing, pollution control, oil and gas recovery, acid production, pickling operations, nuclear fuel reprocessing, and handling of radioactive wastes. As an austenitic, SS Rods is ductile over a wide range of temperatures from cryogenic to well in excess of 1000 Degree F (538 Degree C). Fabricability is typical of these SS Bars, with the material readily formable and weldable by a variety of techniques. The levels of molybdenum and copper enable SS Round Bars to resist reducing agents and acids. It cannot be hardened heat treating, therefore SS Hexagon should not be utilized at temperatures where creep-rupture properties are design factors. SS Wires has good weldability by all conventional processes.
