Stainless steel of grade –
310S electric fusion welded pipes is
the interaction of allotropes with alloying elements, mainly
carbon which gives cast iron and steel their range of
distinctive properties. The centered cubic arrangement in the
body of SS 310s EFW Pipes, the iron atom is present in the mid
of each cube. But in the face of the centered cubic, the iron
atom is present at the center of each six faces of the cubes.
Stainless steel 310S:-
SS 310S was
mainly designed to be the low carbon version of stainless
steel 310 which is medium carbon SS. The grade SS 310s has the
same characteristics as the grade 310. It can survive in high
temperatures, resistance to corrosion and resistance,
machinability the same as type 304.
The SS 310S EFW Pipes consist of 25 % chromium and 20 % nickel. It is very much efficient in the reducing environment like those that contain sulfur. When combined with low carbon content, the metal is also very effective at resisting embrittlement.
The answer starts with what standard grades can't do. Most austenitic stainless steel grades start losing oxidation resistance and mechanical integrity as temperatures rise into elevated service ranges. 310S does not. This is not a minor benefit; it is the fundamental reason this grade exists.
