Stainless Steel 904L Butt Weld Pipe Fittings is generally highly resistant to attack from acids, but this quality depends on the kind and concentration of the acid, the surrounding temperature, and the type of steel. Stainless Steel 904L Butt Weld Fittings is a non-stabilized low carbon high alloy austenitic stainless steel pipe. No pre-heat in SS 904L Pipe Fittings should be used and in most cases post weld heat treatment is also not required. SS 904L Butt Weld Fittings is designed for harsh environments of the corrosion conditions. The addition of copper to SS 904L Butt Weld Pipe Fittings gives it greatly improved resistance to strong reducing acids, particularly sulphuric acid.
Alloy 904L Pipe Fittings has been verified that is very successful after many years of practical application. Type 904L Pipe Fittings does have very substantial contents of the high cost ingredients nickel and molybdenum. Grade 904L Pipe Fittings is also highly resistant to chloride attack pitting / crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.904L Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings is a high purity, low sulphur grade, and as such will not machine well. Many of the applications in which these Alloy 904L Butt Weld Fittings has previously performed well can now be fulfilled at lower cost, so it is used less commonly than in the past.
