Silver Tubes is specialized in manufacturing of Alloy Steel T1 Tubes, which are broken down into two groups: low-alloy steels and high-alloy steels. Alloy Steel T1 Seamless Tubes is the standard term referring to steels with other alloying elements added deliberately in addition to the carbon. Mutual alloyants in Alloy Steel T1 Welded Tubes comprise manganese, nickel, chromium, silicon, boron, molybdenum and vanadium. Less common alloyants in Alloy Steel T1 ERW Tubes include aluminium, cobalt, copper, cerium, niobium, titanium, tungsten, tin, zinc, lead, and zirconium. The range of better-quality characteristics in Alloy Steel T1 Tubes (as related to carbon steels) are: toughness, strength, hardness, wear resistance, hardenability, hot hardness and corrosion resistance. To achieve some of these improved properties, AS T1 Tubes may require heat treating.
Some of these in AS T1 Seamless Tubes find uses in exotic and highly-demanding applications, such as in the turbine blades of jet engines, in spacecraft, and in nuclear reactors. Because of the ferromagnetic properties of iron, AS T1 Welded Tubes find important applications where their responses to magnetism are very important, including in electric motors and in transformers. In general, wear resistance can be improved by increasing the hardness of AS T1 Tubes, by specifying an alloy with greater carbon content (without increasing hardness), or by both. This specification covers nominal wall along with minimum wall seamless ferritic AS T1 ERW Tubes intended for in fact high temperature service.
