Duplex steel forged fitting are the forged fitting material made up of duplex steel. The duplex material used in these forged fitting are the metallurgic structures consisting of two phases; these phases are austenite and ferrite. The two material used are roughly in the equal proportion. They posses feature like good mechanical properties during the tie of welding and also excellent resistance with the corrosion through moisture, gas, different chemicals and other climatic conditions.
The forged fittings are made and used to connect the nominal bore schedule pipelines. They are generally used in the industries like chemicals, petrochemical, and power generation. The main applications of duplex steel forged fitting are in the industries where the vibration, high pressure and extremely corrosive conditions exist.
There are two types of forged fitting available in accordance with the connection to the pipes. They are- socket weld connection and threaded. There are two types of threaded, the NPT or national pipe thread is the most common thread type. Another kind is the BSPP which is the British standard pipe parallel thread. This thread is available for certain parts like full coupling, hex bushing and hex nipples.
The Duplex 2205 Socket Weld Fittings connection is certainly more popular then the Duplex 2205 Threaded Fittings. These are certainly used in completely sealing off a line and eliminating all the possibility of the leakage.
