These elements in Carbon Steel Rods are added due to individual elemental benefits. Elements with a lower percentage in Carbon Steel Round Bars i.e. less that 5 % are added to increase the strength and harden ability and in larger percentage to achieve special properties like corrosion resistance, high temperature sustainability, and high yield and impact results. CS Bars is heat treated to achieve mechanical properties as per the desired alloying element. CS Round Bars are used for high temperature service applications.

In general, CS Rods is referred when content of Manganese – 1.65 %, Silicon – 0.6 % & copper 0.6 % exceeds the limit prescribed. Carbon Steel Bars shall be appropriate for flanging (vanstoning), bending, and similar materializing processes, and also for fusion welding. Each length of Carbon Steel Rods shall be subjected to the hydrostatic test. Also, Carbon Steel Round Bars shall be examined by a non-destructive examination method in accordance to the required practices.
