Well-thought-out as one of the most multipurpose corrosion resistant steels obtainable, Hastelloy C276 Fasteners exhibits outstanding resistance in a widespread range of chemical process atmospheres. Low carbon content in Hastelloy B2 Fasteners which minimizes grain-boundary carbide precipitation during welding to maintain resistance to corrosion in heat-affected zones of welded joints. At any point where dry cutting is recommended in Hastelloy B3 Fasteners, an air jet directed on the tool may provide substantial tool life increases. A water-base coolant mist may also be effective.
Although Hastelloy X Fasteners tends to work-harden, you can have it successfully spun, deep-drawn, press formed or punched. Water-base coolant should be premium quality in Hastelloy Nuts, sulfochlorinated water soluble oil or chemical emulsion with extreme pressure additives. All of the common methods of welding can be used in Hastelloy Bolts, although the oxyacetylene and submerged arc processes are not recommended when the fabricated item is for use in corrosion service. Also, Hastelloy Washers has excellent resistance to phosphoric acid at all temperatures below boiling and at concentrations lower than 65 %. Water-base coolant in Hastelloy Screws may cause chipping and rapid failure of carbide tools in interrupted cuts.
