The additions of copper and molybdenum in ASTM A182 F91 Alloy Steel Flanges increase it resistance to general stress corrosion and to specific attacks such as crevice corrosion. As an austenitic, ASTM A182 F91 Alloy Steel Pipe Flanges is ductile over a wide range of temperatures from cryogenic to well in excess of 1000 Degree F (538 Degree C). Fabricability is typical of ASME SA182 F91 Alloy Steel Flanges, with the material readily formable and weldable by a variety of techniques.
The levels of molybdenum and copper enable ASME SA 182 F91 Alloy Steel Pipe Flanges to resist reducing agents and acids. For that reason, ASTM A182 Alloy Steel F91 Flanges should not be utilized at temperatures where creep-rupture properties are design factors.
